Runners Information

This page contains important information about your race – updated 18th June 2022.

The weather forecast for Sunday is looking great. We hope you are as excited as us about the event which gets bigger and better every year. We are expecting over 400 runners and we invite you to come in Martian themed fancy dress.

The race start time is 09:00 on Sunday 26th June 2022. The event village will be in McLaren park where the race will both start and finish. This is 20 minutes walk from the parking area at Fairoaks Airport and in Chobham Business area opposite, both off the Chobham to Ottershaw road and signed with arrows and stewards to help you.

We suggest you aim to arrive at the start line 30 minutes before the race starts to warm up and be ready for the off!

If you have registered before Friday 17th June 2022, your Bib number has been allocated and you can collect your Racepack from The Run Company, 19 Commercial Way, Woking, GU21 6XR prior to the event. They are open 9 – 5.30 pm Monday – Saturday and 10am – 4pm Sunday.

Confirm Bib Number

If it has not been allocated, there will be a further allocation close of play Wednesday 22nd June 2022 and you can collect you Racepack from the shop after this. Anyone entering the event after this date will need to collect their Racepack from the event village on the day.

For those that cannot make it into the shop there will still be the opportunity to collect your numbers at the event village on the day which will be open from 07:30 until 08: 30. Failure to collect before that will prevent you taking part in the race. Your race number includes the all important timing chip!.

There will be a secure bag-drop and key-drop for your last minute items at the registration desk.

A pre-race warm-up will start at 08:45 conducted by Kim Rylatt of The Gym Group.

The 5k route is a single loop with one water station at approximately the 4.5k mark and at the finish.

The 10k route is a single loop with three water stations at 3.5k, 8k, 9k and at the finish.

The 21k route is two laps with six water stations at 4.7k, 9.3k, 10.3k, 14.7k, 19.1k, 20.2k and at the finish.

All water stations will be providing water in paper cups. In order to preserve the beautiful nature of Horsell Common we are operating a strict no littering policy. Littering on the course and particularly at the water stations is not permitted. A bin for your water cups will be provided 50m after each water station, please use it. Any runner who drops litter will be disqualified.

At the finish prizes will be presented by our Sponsors, Trident Honda & Heather Farm Cafe. This year we are giving over £500 in cash prizes to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed male and female runners in each race distance. We are expecting some fierce competition and fast times from the front runners.

Arrival by Car

Parking is at Fairoaks Airport, GU24 8HU Or Immediatley opposite in Chobham Business Park as per site signage. Parking will open at 06:45 and will close at 08:15. and requires a permit.

It is a 20 minute walk from the car parking to registration at the race village. Look for and follow yellow signs marked “To the Start” and arrows.We will have parking stewards to help parking, and to guide you the walk to the start along the perimeter of the Airfield. PLEASE DO NOT STRAY FROM THE DEFINED WALK FOR SAFETY.

Arrival by Shuttle Bus

If you chose the shuttle bus option when you entered, the shuttle will run every 15 minutes from 07:00 until 08:15. The shuttle will depart from the Southern side of Woking station from Platform 5 (the Marks & Spencer’s side, not the town side). Please arrive as early as possible. If you arrive after 07:30 you may have to queue for one or more shuttles before you get picked up, and you could potentially miss the start. There is a 10 minute walk to registration after being dropped off outside McLaren Park Entrance. Look for and follow yellow arrows or signs marked “To the Start”.

Return shuttles will run every 15 minutes from 10:00 until 13:00.

Arrival by Taxi

Ask to be dropped off at the bus stop on the A320 just after the McLaren roundabout when heading towards Ottershaw. From there look for our Steward at the entrance and follow yellow signs marked “To the Start”.

Arrival on Foot or by Bike

From the A320 take the gravel road, Anthony’s, opposite the Sands pub. Follow this road through to McLaren park and continue along the path until you reach the race village. Alternatively, continue on the A320 towards Ottershaw until you pass the McLaren roundabout. About 100m further on your left is a service road leading to McLaren Park, which will have an “A” sign on it and our steward Adrian. From there follow the arrows and signs marked “To the Start”.
